Alaska is the land of the Midnight Sun.  Make the most of your time this summer with a “Midnight Sun” ATV or UTV ride into the backcountry of Alaska on Hatcher Pass. Experience the same adventure of our signature half-day ATV Adventure Tour except it will be against the late night sun and cool evening colors of the Talkeetna Mountains.  There’s nothing like being on the mountain in an ATV as the sun sets low on the horizon.

NOTE: We do not provide drivers for our tours. You must be at least 18 and licensed to drive a machine (auto/car driver’s license).

Tour Details

This tour is 3.5 hours long and departs at 6 pm. Our tours meet at our base in Willow and then head up the mountain. There is a free shuttle from our base to where we start our tours on the mountain. There is plenty of parking at both locations including RVs and our Hatcher Pass location is approved for rental vehicles if you would rather drive up there yourself. Please arrive 30 minutes before the tour starts to check-in.

This tour is suitable for drivers of all ability levels and experiences. Don’t worry, if you’re new to ATVs, we’ll work with you to build your skills as we progress throughout the tour. Choose from a single-rider “ATV”, a multi-passenger “UTV” or “Side by Side” depending on your group size and what type of adventure you want. Drivers must be 18 years or older with a driver’s license to drive either machine. Children are allowed to ride in a UTV but they must be able to properly wear a seat belt sitting up or with a booster seat. The ATV is a single-rider machine. UTVs are priced for up to either 2, 4, or 6 passengers. Rain jackets, boots, pants, helmets, and goggles are provided. Dust masks are available for purchase.

Additional Information

The phenomenon of the Midnight Sun, where the sun remains visible at the local midnight, is a unique Arctic and Antarctic occurrence. Alaska, being situated near the Arctic Circle, is one of the few places on Earth where you can witness this spectacle. For travelers and nature enthusiasts, understanding this phenomenon can significantly enrich their Midnight Sun ATV Adventure experience.

For a deeper dive into the science and beauty of the Midnight Sun, the University of Alaska Fairbanks’ Geophysical Institute provides valuable insights. Exploring such resources can complement your physical adventure with a touch of knowledge, making your Alaskan trip truly holistic.
